The Most Townhome-Heavy Town We Serve
Hanover Park built almost all of its housing in a single 20-year push: 62.3% of the village's 11,566 units were built between 1970 and 1989, with a median year built of 1976. Less than 1% predates 1940 and barely 1% has gone up since 2010. (Source: CMAP Community Data Snapshot, ACS 2020–2024.)
It also has the highest share of attached housing of any town we serve: 31.2% single-family attached — townhomes and rowhomes — plus another 12.4% in multifamily buildings.
That combination is why so much of our Hanover Park work is association work. Roofs built together age together, and a 1970s townhome row that has had one or two coverings is now a board-level capital decision rather than a homeowner decision. We write scopes associations can bid competitively, phase work across buildings, and are happy to present to a board meeting before anyone signs anything.
Ontarioville, annexed by the village in 1982, has older stock again and is worth a closer look at decking condition on tear-off.
Hanover Park Took the Worst of June 24, 2026
June 24, 2026. The National Weather Service recorded a measured 58 mph gust at Hanover Park and placed the village inside a corridor of estimated 70–75 mph straight-line winds running through Streamwood, Bartlett and Hanover Park. Logged damage included four-inch limbs down, a large limb snapped onto multiple parked vehicles, fence posts and panels down, and a six-inch limb on Ring Court.
July 27, 2026. One-inch hail was reported one mile south of Hanover Park at 11:17 AM.
April 14, 2026. One-inch hail was reported two miles south of Hanover Park at 10:38 PM.
Two separate one-inch hail events plus a 70 mph wind corridor in one year is a lot for one roof. Hail that size bruises the shingle mat and accelerates granule loss; the damage is real but it is genuinely hard to see from the ground. We photograph what we find and give you the pictures whether or not you file a claim.
Permits in Hanover Park
Hanover Park sits in both Cook and DuPage counties and permits roofing work through the village. We confirm the current requirements and fee with the village's building department for your address, pull the permit and meet the inspector — it is part of the job, not an extra.
Our Illinois roofing license is 104.004825. After a storm like June 2026, Hanover Park sees a lot of out-of-area door-knocking. Ask anyone who shows up for a license number and a local address.
